Margaret Marrin was a daughter of James and Mary Marrin. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland and died at her home in Alto Township, Lee County, south of Steward, on Thursday, November 18, 1920, at the age of 62 years, death resulting from a long and lingering illness. She was united in marriage to Stephen Kirby in 1881. There were born to them 11 children, three having preceded her in death. Powers, Marengo and also two sisters Mrs. Lizzie Sheridan, Aurora and Mrs Frank Schnorr, Amboy and one brother James of Aurora. The funeral srevices took place at St. Patrick's Church in this city Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Solemn requiem high mass was conducted by father Quinlisk of Lee, Father Solom of DeKalb, and Father Bourke of Rochelle. The funeral sermon was by Father Quinlisk. The burial was in the south side cemetery.

(There are several mistakes in this Obit: Lillian was actually Lucian, Edward Francis was left out, Thomas was her step-son, James lived in Richdale, Alberta, Canada, and was also a step-son.
