Edna M. Brown, age 93,of Council Bluffs, passed away August 3, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Edna was born June 4, 1921, in Hays, Kansas, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Staab) Doerfler. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hays, Kansas, in 1939. Edna married Joseph E. Brown on June 18, 1941, in Hays. They were blessed with six children. Edna was a floor associate for JC Penney for 13 years and a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; Altar and Rosary Society; Sew-n-Sews; senior bowling league at Thunder Bowl and a life member of the UPRR Old Timers.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Brown on May 1, 1999; granddaughter, Rachel Ives; 2 sisters and a brother.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Judith Bottiglieri (life partner, Karen Borowski) of Henderson, Colorado, Janet (Doug) Ives of Hermitage, Missouri, Jeanine (Glen) Wickersham of Lemoyne, Nebraska, Joan (Bernie) Colpitts of Council Bluffs; sons, Joseph (Angie) Brown of Council Bluffs, John (Suzette) Brown of Gobles, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters, Rachel Doerfler, Kathie Rohr, Mildred Fitzgerald, Annette Seib; brothers, Wilfred, Marvin and Harold Doerfler; many nieces and nephews.
