She was born on May 24, 1918, in Ellensburg, Washington, and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Truma Mudd.
Following World War II, she moved to Kansas with her husband, Alvin Bird, where they farmed and fed cattle for 55 years. They were married for 68 years.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Jo Bird of Hilton Head Island, SC.; a granddaughter, Kathy O'Meara of Parker, CO.; a grandson, Michael Bird of Denver, CO.; and four great grandchildren, Alec and Nate O'Meara, and Sophie and Stella Bird; three sisters, Bonnie Richards, Peggy VanAusdale, Dorothy Boyles; and one brother, Donald Mudd.
