From the Mackay, Idaho Mackay Miner newspaper - Former Mackay Man Dies - McCall - Jack David, 69, veteran railroad and mining man, died Monday at the Samaritan Hospital in Nampa, Idaho following a long illness. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1868, and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad there and in Pocatello, Idaho for 30 years.
Later Mr. David was employed by the Livingston Mining Corporation and the Sherman-Howe Mining Company at Mackay, Challis, and Burgdorf. He had lived in McCall since December, 1933, until he was taken to the hospital last February.
Mr. David was also a bookkeeper at the mines here in Mackay for a number of years and will be remembered by many old friends here.
Surviving are a brother, E.L. David of Omaha, Nebraska and three sisters, Mrs. F. P. Majors of Peru, Nebraska, Mrs. Alma Austin of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. A. L. Boltz of Los Angeles, California.
The body is at the Robb Funeral Home in Cascade. The funeral will be Thursday morning at McCall Cemetery.
