DELCAMBRE - Funeral services for Curley Joseph Veronie, 85, will be at 3 p.m. today, April 5, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.The Rev. Thomas Voorhies will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Evangeline Funeral Home.Visitation is from 8 a.m. A rosary was recited Wednesday evening.

Mr. Veronie died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001.
He was a native of Maurice. He was a carpenter. He was a musician and played the accordion, drums and violin. He played with Happy Fats, D.L. Menard, Aldas Roger, Cleveland Mire, Lawrence Walker, Cliff Touchet, Alex Broussard, Joe Turner and Ricky Dugas.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Venable Veronie of Delcambre; three daughters, Verlie Langlinais of Delcambre, Verna Bourque of New Iberia and Verjie Wheat of
Big Lake; two brothers, Dudley Veronie of Broussard and Dennis Veronie of Lafayette; three sisters, Violia Petry of Scott, Honor Trahan of New Iberia and Eva Rose Primeaux of Perry; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
