BAXTER – Memorial services for Samuel Derwood Gambrell, 62, of Plant City, FL, will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation.
Mr. Gambrell died on Friday, Dec. 19, 1997, in Plant City, FL.
A native of Baxter, he was born on Oct. 12, 1935, to the late William H. and Vioda Elzo Maxwell Gambrell. He served in the Navy and worked as a mechanic.
His family includes two sons, Jeffery gambrel of Plant City, FL, and Randy Gambrell of Gainesboro; three daughters, Connie Hawkins, and Vicky and Lisa Holland, all of Gainesboro; three daughters, Connie Hawkins, and Vicky and Lisa Holland, all of Gainesboro; four brothers, Charlie Gambrell of Gainesboro, Doug and Joe Gambrell, both of Plant City, FL, and Lewis Gambrell of Peru, IN; eight sisters, Jean Clouse of Ten Mile, Jill Sparks and Mural Burgess, both of Cookeville, Elizabeth Ray of Peru, IN, Linda Burgess of Gainesboro, Thelma Rodgers of Smithville, Cathy Thomas of Baxter, and Judy Fields of Fayetteville,
WV.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gambrell was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Gambrell; and a sister, Wanda Charlene Gamrell.
