Jonas was the son of Andrew & Mary Frances Scott Rucker. He married Anna Lou Evans, the daughter of Jerry & Belle Evans, on July 14, 1921 in Winchester, Kentucky. The couple's marriage ended in divorce.

Mr. Rucker was employed, as day laborer, at a lumber yard. While at work, he accidentally fell from a warehouse loft and passed away from the effects of his injuries, which included a fractured skull.

Note: DOB is from his WWI Draft registration form. DC listed 09-30-1891 as DOB and the 1900 census listed the DOB as May, 1893.
