Bessie Haithcock was the beloved daughter of Samuel Haithcock and Rose Ann Thompson Haithcock. Bessie was born on Jan. 7, 1894 in Maxton, Robeson Co., NC and died on Feb. 1, 1987 in Clio, Marlboro Co., SC at the age of 93. Bessie Haithcock and Fred Pate had one son, Jack Haithcock, born on Nov. 27, 1914 and died on Dec. 26, 1921 at age 7 years and 1 month. He died of meningitis and pneumonia.
