JOHN CLARENCE DOTY

John Clarence Doty, 71, died at his home in Midvale Thursday at 2:45 a.m., following a long illness.
Mr. Doty was born February 12, 1866 (sic), to Jedediah and Hannah Giles (sic) Doty in Van Buren county, Iowa. He came to Midvale at the age of 9, where he had since been engaged as a machinist and farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Clarence Doty, Provo, and Charles and Claudius Doty, Salt Lake City; six daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Channing, Murray; Mrs. Clara Cock, Shelley, Idaho; Laura Doty, Midvale; Mrs. J. E. Nielsen, Salt Lake City; Celia Doty, Provo, and Mrs. LaVera Cowdell, Midvale; 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Midvale Second LDS Ward chapel. Burial will be in the Midvale Cemetery.
