Deceased was born and reared in our midst, being the daughter of the late G. m. Thomas, and has many friends here who will mourn at the news of her death. Mrs. Pullen leaves a devoted husband, baby, mother and two brothers who are bowed in anguish at the death of their loved one, and no words of ours can assuage their grief."

"LAID TO REST
It is to be doubted whether any lady in Baton Rouge had more strong friends than Mrs. Bessie Pullen, nee Thomas, whose funearl took place yesterday morning from the residence of mrs. leSueur, on National avenue.
At her funeral there were present citizens from all sections of the parish, many of them having traveled miles in order to be present on that sad occasion. Those who gathered around the flower-covered casket in that saddened home were from all professions and callings in life. And each one came with messages of condolence from scores of others who could not attend.
They stood around the grave on arriving at the cemetery and watched the mortal remains of the lady lowered to their last resting place, and their great sorrow was visible.
Beautiful were the flowers that were shared by loving hands upon the casket touching were the words spoken by the minister of the gospel over the ? form of the lady who had passed away.
Mrs. Pullen was a native of this parish, where she had lived all her life up to two years ago when she moved to New orleans to be near her husband who was a railroad official running out of that city. She was just ? years old at the time.
She was a sister to Dr. John n. Thomas of port Eads, and Mr. Gib Thomas of this parish, and besides these relatives she leaves a mother, husband and one infant child to mourn her loss.
Her death was very sudden one."
