- - - Buford Aubrey "B.A." Vickers, 73, died of cancer Saturday, June 6, 1998 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, Scott County, Mississippi. Visitation was Monday, June 8th 5:30-9pm and Tuesday, June 9th 8:00am until service time. Services were Tuesday, June 9th 10:00 am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
- - - Mr. Vickers was born on May 17, 1925 in Bessemer, Jefferson County, Alabama to James Albert "Jim" & Clara Vera (Danford) Vickers. Mr. Vickers had lived all over due to being a Union Master Electrician. He was a member of IBEW Union and VFW. He was a member of Steele Baptist Church.
- - - Mr. Vickers married Clessie Maude Harris on March 29, 1942 at the courthouse in Ashland, Clay County, Alabama. They were blessed with 6 children.
- - - He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers: W.E. "Eddie" Vickers, E. Talmage Vickers, A. Raymond Vickers, Julian A. Vickers, G. Arnold Vickers, and J. Arthur Vickers; 3 sisters: Levis D. Vickers Williams, Annie G. Vickers Pike, and Gladys M. Vickers Forman; 2 grandsons , Judson Aubrey Vickers in 1968 and Jerry Wayne Vickers in 1987; 1 granddaughter, Angelina Darlene DeLee in 1982.
- - - He is survived by the mother of his children, Clessie Maude Harris Vickers of Goodwater, Alabama; 2 sons: ___(living)____ and James Donald "Jimmy" Vickers of Kellyton, Alabama; 4 daughters: Margaret Ann "Margie" Vickers Dye of Dadeville, Alabama, Patricia Gail "Pat" Vickers Ellison of Hollins, Alabama, Shirley Jean Vickers Patterson of Goodwater, Alabama; and Cathy Dianne Vickers of Birmingham, Alabama; 14 grandsons; 11 granddaughters; 12 great-grandsons; 14 great-granddaughters; and 1 brother, James Thurman Vickers of Goodwater, Alabama.
