January 29,1903 - On Friday, January 23rd, 1903, Mrs. William Wiant died at her home in Clarion after an illness of several months. She had reached the age of 76 years and 1 month. Elizabeth Howe was born December 17, 1826 and was married to William Wiant, Sept. 13, 1855. To them were born two sons and eight daughters,all of whom survive but one son and one daughter. She leaves a husband, three brothers, one son, seven daughters, twenty-three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She united with the Reformed church in 1856, and after moving to Clarion became a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she retained her membership till the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted at the Lutheran church by the pastor Rev. Ziegler, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock.
