William Endress, Sr., a retired area farmer, died Friday, September 7, 1973 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leo (Frances) Morrow in Freeport, IL, following an extended illness. He was 92.
He was born in Pleasant Valley Township, Jo Daviess County, April 11, 1881, the son of Michael and Anna Mary (Beahm) Endress. He married Bertha Goodmiller, Dec. 24, 1902. She died in 1950.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Morrow is another daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Mary) Downs, Lanark/ and four sons, Roy of Elizabeth, Franklin of Dixon, Lyle and William Jr. of Freeport; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He as preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Florence Haug, and a grandson Wayne Lester Haug; three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service will be Monday at 1pm in the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. The Rev. Charles Fleck of the Calvary United Methodist Church will officate with burial in Savanna City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Fox, Ronald Fox, Gary Downs, Dale Downs, Alan Downs and Dennis Endress.
