"MOUND CITY, Mo.- Cleta L. Kennish, 83, died Sunday, April 24, 1988, at a health-care center in Rock Port, Mo.

Mrs. Kennish was born in Atchison county, Mo., and attended school in Atchison. She graduated from the Bellevue High School, near Mound City, and also graduated from Northwest Missouri State University. She attended the University of Iowa.

She married John S. Kennish on June 1, 1930, in Tarkio, Mo. He survives of the home. The couple made their home in Webster Groves, Mo., and Shawnee Mission, Kan., before returning to the Mound City area in 1985.

Mrs. Kennish taught school in the Martinsville, Mo., and Savannah, Mo. school districts and was a real estate representative in Webster Groves.

She was a member of the Southwest Bible Church of Prairie Village, Kan.

Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home in Mound City. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home."
