Eunice Turner, the daughter of Sam and Hester (Miller) Lansdown, was born March 17, 1914 in Douglas County, and passed away on June 27, 2002 in Ava, at the age of 88
Eunice was a lifelong resident of Douglas County. She was a housewife and homemaker. Eunice also enjoyed working on the dairy farm with her husband, Clair, for many years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Ava.
On Aug. 5, 1934 Eunice and Clair Turner were united in marriage in Squires. To this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers; and her husband, Clair, in 1984.
Eunice is survived by three daughters, Maxine Little and Wesley of Benton, Kan., Laverna Forbus and Thomas of Wellington, Kan., Yvonne Thacker and Paul of Leasburg; one son, Dwain Turner and Kathy of Ava; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; three bothers, Abner and Lewis Lansdown of Ava, and Ira Lansdown of Bull Shoals, Ark.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 pm Saturday, June 29, at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Dustin Ledford officiating. Interment was in the Murray Cemetery south of Ava, under direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
