He was born September 17, 1919, at Williford, Arkansas, to Cassius Claude Baird and Ethel "Bottoms" Baird.
He was a farmer, avid fox hunter, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Irene "King" Baird of the home, two sons, Charles Baird (Kaye) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and C.C. Baird (Patsy) of Williford, Arkansas, one brother Thomas Baird of Rolla, Missouri, two sisters, Geraldine Gatley of Washington and Sue Warren of Kentucky, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services at the Bettis Church of Christ near Center, Arkansas. Burial was in the Opposition Cemetery located in Ravenden, Arkansas.
