Eva L. Coy - Eva Lavona (Adams) Coy, daughter of Faye Perry Adams and Wiley Adams was born July 12, 1904 at Gravity, Iowa. She married Gail Utter, October 9, 1920. To this union two children were born: Don Utter and Dorotha Poore. Gail died September 24, 1932 and is buried in Washington Cemetery in Gravity.
Eva married Earl Coy on July 20, 1933 and shared his home until his death, March 7, 1961. Eva continued to live in Bedford until November 1, 1978 when she moved to Webster City, Iowa. She moved again in 1984 to a Nursing home in Des Moines, Iowa and from there she moved to Stratford Care Center in Stratford, Iowa where she died on June 30, 1996 at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 18 days.
She was a member of the Gravity Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary. Left to cherish her memory are Don Utter and wife, Helen, of Webster City, Iowa; Dorotha Poore of New Hope, Minnesota; a brother, Dale Adams of Corning, Iowa; four grandchildren: Gail Utter, Urbandale, IA; Dennis Utter, Chariton, IA; Wayne Huntsman, Sioux City, Iowa and Linda Bailie, Plymouth, Minnesota: eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held July 3, 1996 at Novinger-Taylor Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Ray Artrip officiating. Interment is in Washington Cemetery Gravity, Iowa.
