The Edmonson County Native was a retired laborer, a former Edmonson County magistrate, sheriff's deputy and a member of Midway United Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Blain Johnson and Lucy Vincent Johnson.
Funeral was Sunday at the Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville Chapel with burial in the Sweeden Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Mabel Gipson Johnson; four sons, John Johnson of Sweeden, Ronnie Johnson of Central City, Steve Johnson of Millwood and Troy Gipson of Bowling Green; three daughters, Joan Thurby of Cave City, Marsha Filback of Huff and Julie Casey of Clarkson; two Brothers, Oval and Noah Johnson, both of Brownsville; four sisters, Freda Vincent of Lindseyville, Jewel Vincent and Louise Roberts both of Louisville, and Erma Dean Hogan of Brownsville; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
