Alvin Eugene "Gene" Ogline, 79, Friedens formerly of Hooversville, died July 12, 2014 at the Patriot. Born Sept. 3, 1934 in Jenners, son of Alvin T. and Anna Bell (Cupp) Ogline.

Preceded in death by parents; son Michael; sisters: Betty Thomas, Janet Scaife and Joyce Ogline; and brother Phillip.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, the Donna Mae Secrest;

** Shawn md Brenda Rutledge, Boswell
---grandchildren: Taylor, Caleb, Bethany, Teela & April
brother: Dennis and wife Ruth, Boswell;
sister : Alice married to Earl Fleegle, Boswell

also by brother-in-law: Earl Thomas, Quecreek; and numerous nieces/nephews.

Eugene was a Korean War Air Force veteran and was retired from the PA Turnpike Commission. He was a member of Hooversville V.F.W. Post 7565 where he was a past commander, Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association, 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing Association, Stoystown American Legion, Hooversville Game Association, and was a life member of Jenner's Rod and Gun Club. Former member of the Hooversville Borough Council and umpire for Hooversville Little League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing Santa at Christmas time.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Gerald L. Myers officiating. Interment P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hooversville V.F.W. Post 7565, P.O. Box 15, Hooversville, PA 15936.
