Mollie Lassiter Williamson, 89, of Chadbourn died Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.

Mrs. Williamson was a daughter of the late James Lassiter and Claudie Tinkham Lassiter and the widow of Lewis Carl Williamson.

She retired from Carolina Telephone Company as chief operator after 37 years of service and later worked along with her husband Lewis at Williamson's Milling Company in Chadbourn for 17 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Williamson of Lake Waccamaw; two sons, Dennis C. Williamson (Eula Mae) of Fairmont, and Wayne Williamson (Vickie) of Evergreen; a sister, Nancy Piland of Greenville; three grandchildren, Shawna Williams, Walt Williamson, and Ron Fields; five great-grandchildren, Seth Williams, Channing Williamson, Jean-Aubrey Williamson, Allyssa Fields, and Rebecca Fields.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Tinkham Lassiter.

Memorials may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 4934 Peacock Road, Whiteville, NC 28472

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, in Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Smyrna Baptist Church. The Reverend Ray Best, the Reverend Merle Johnson, and the Reverend Ron Fields will officiate. Burial will follow in Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville.
