VIRGIL M. BEATTY

Virgil McClellan Beatty, 86, Boonville, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 14, at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was the father of Mary Etta Dowd of Rockville.

Born December 15, 1899 in Rosedale, he was the son of Charles Joseph and Jenny Uselman Beatty. On June 28, 1947 he married Marjorie Sue Jones, who survives. He moved from Rockville to Boonville where he lived for nine years. A veteran of World War II, he retired as a postal clerk after 30 years of service. He was a member of Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church.

Other survivors include another daughter, Jean Kirk of Pittsburg, Kansas; a son, Steven C. Beatty of Mitchell, Illinois; a sister, Beurah Whitworth of Rockvlle; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted FrIday at Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church with Rev. Ardell W. Polk officiatIng. Burial was in Clark's Chapel Cemetery.

The family requested that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church in Boonville, Missouri.
