Lolita D. Charles
Lolita D. Charles, 91, of 1718 Art Drive, Hanover, died Sunday morning at Homewood Retirement Center in Hanover. Born in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob F. and Eliza M. Lady Deardorff.
She was a member of Flohrs Lutheran Church, was a school teacher in the Cashtown area for 43 years, and a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Gettysburg Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, the Adams County, Historical Society and the Homemakers Club of Cashtown.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Justine Combs, Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Jay S. Charles, Hanover; three grandchildren and three greatgrand children; a sister, Mrs. Isabel Watson, Alameda, Calif, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Flohrs Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Y. Boden and the Rev. Phillip Bower officiating. Interment will be in Flohrs Cemetry. Funeral arrangements are being handled through Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg.
In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made to Flohrs Lutheran Chruch.
