Mrs. Catherine McCartin

Mrs. Catherine Viola McCartin, 72, wife of Samuel J. McCartin, died at 5:30 o'clock Wednesday evening at her home in Waynesboro.
She had been in failing health for the last six years and was critically ill since Monday after suffering a stroke.
She was born in Adams County, the daughter of Jacob and Harriet (Deardorff) Cluck. Her early life was spent in Adams County and after her marriage she went to Waynesboro where she had since resided.
She was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Surviving are her husband; two children, by her former marriage: Paul Dunlap, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Earl Ditner, Hagerstown, two step-children, Mrs. Samuel Hartman of Mont Alto, and Robert W. McCartin, Coast Guard, stationed at Miami, Fla; two grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Cluck, of Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Cora Boyd, of Detroit, Mich; two half-brothers, Lawrence Cluck, of Waynesboro, and Dorsey Cluck, of Mont Alto and a halfsister, Mrs. Laura Kurawa, of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Funeral service Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, in charge of Dr. Paul O. Shettel. Interment in Flohr's Cemetery, McKnightstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening between 7 and 9 o'clock.
