Funeral services for Agnes Cantwell McVay of Delhi will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Herringville Baptist Church in Monticello, LA with Rev. Donnie Linson and Rev. Johnny Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held at Herringville Baptist Church from 5-9PM Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi.

Mrs. McVay, a homemaker, was born on November 14, 1928 and went to meet her Lord on June 12, 2007 at the Richland Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Delhi at the age of 78.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Burin Lee McVay; a son, Rickey McVay; parents, Walter and Edna Cantwell; sisters, Norma Cantwell, Octavia Arledge and Nina "Sue" Prince and a son-in-law, Tommy Morris.

Survivors include a son, David McVay and wife Francine of Epps, LA; three daughters, Sandra Morris of Delhi, LA, Vickie Cartlidge and husband Darrel of West Monroe, LA and Mickie Hughbanks and husband Jim of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Alma Kirksey and Gayle Smith, both of West Monroe, LA; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Agnes was a faithful member of Herringville Baptist Church and was music director there for years. She and her husband were also caretakers of the cemetery.

In earlier years you would find her in the high school gym or baseball field cheering her children on as they participated in their sports. She loved the Lord and her family very much.

Pallbearers will be Todd McVay, Toby McVay, Paul Johnston, Rober Pepper and Chris Owen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert E. Williams, Kenny Cichocki, Joey Boudreaux and Bryant Franklin.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Richland Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Corey Albritton and Hospice Care of LA for the love and wonderful care given to their mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are given to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or to the Herringville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
