Our father Pete (Varela) Ruiz was a career military man. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marines finally settling in the U.S.Navy as a Seabee. He was deployed to Vietnam and did two tours.He was stationed many places amongst them being Rota, Spain, Guam, Coronado, CA. Just to name a few. He retired with full military honor's whilst living in Port Hueneme, CA. During his time with the military he earned and was awarded the following honors:
