Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. E. S. Solheim officiating. Interment was made in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery in Reynolds.
Helena Lundquist was born January 1, 1865, at Arbogo, Nerike, Sweden, the daughter of John and Anna Catherine Lundquist. She came to the United States in July 1890, first making her home in St. Paul. Five years were spent there and at Farmington. In 1895 she came to this county and on May 22 of that year was here married to Arnt Erickson.
They immediately established their residence on a homestead in Reynolds which continued her home until her death. At that time their land was all timber and with her husband she worked diligently to develop a farm, enduring all the hardships that confronted the pioneers in this region.
A member of the Norwegian Lutheran church, she found her greatest pleasure in her home and in her death the community mourns a neighbor who was held in high esteem.
Surviving her death are her husband and the following children: Arthur of Little Sauk, Arvid of San Francisco, Calif., Helmer of Reynolds, Rudolph who is in the navy at Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Francis (Elsie) Lee and Mrs. Fred (Ethel) Christiansen of Reynolds. Three children preceded the mother in death, two daughters in infancy and a son, Joseph, at the age of 10. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and a brother or sister is thought to be still living in Sweden.
Those from a distance who attended the last rites were Rudolph Erickson of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Frank Johnson of Kingman, Alberta, Canada. Pallbearers were Fred Berg, Louis Berg, Clarence Hansen, Edwin Fremo, Emil Borton and Oscar Lindstrom.
