Patsy Pope Putnam of East Ridge passed away peacefully at her home on Monday evening, July 7, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Fred A. and Mary Lou Boleman Pope.

As a young girl and until her marriage in 1962 she was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Lakeview High School and Edmondson Business College.

When she married Larry Putnam in 1962 she joined Ridgedale United Methodist Church where he was active and where they raised their children. In 1991 they became members of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in East Ridge.

Patsy loved entertaining family and friends in their home and especially enjoyed decorating the home according to the holiday season being celebrated. Her favorite season was Christmas where every room was adorned with her favorite pieces from trees, angel and Santa figures and manger scenes. And there was always room for one more extra guest when food was being served.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Larry D. Putnam; her son, Michael, wife Ruth and daughter Allison; her daughter Michele P. Wilkins and her daughters Michaela and Megan; her uncle Winborn Boleman and wife Sally; and a host of cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4 PM to 7 PM. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Lawrence C. Clark and Rev. Donald Allison on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Patsy's memory to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37416.

The family wishes to thank Doctors Mullady, Gandhi and Kimsey for their great care and concern during her brief illness. Also a special thank you to the nurses, CNA's and staff at Hospice of Chattanooga. Patsy was able to remain at home her last few weeks thanks to the wonderful help by caregivers Quintella Robinson, Ann Gilbert and Monica Kyles.
