Based on information contained in Alcott's "Fauquier Families, 1759-1799," it is thought that George Brown was the son of Daniel Brown and brother to William Brown. The Brown family lived in Fauquier, Virginia and are mentioned several times in Alcott's "Fauquier Families, 1759-1799." George married Susanna Green, daughter of Joseph and sister to Charles, 24 Nov 1794 in Fauquier, Virginia. George and Susanna settled in Fauquier, Virginia and raised 8 known children: Alfred, who moved to West Virginia; George Coleman, who married Eleanor Martin and moved to Illinois; Daniel Watson who married Eleanor's sister, Dorcas Martin, also moved to Illinois; Joseph A, of whom is little is known; Patsy who married Lewis Armstrong and stayed in Fauquier; Catherine who married James Strother and lived in Loudoun and Culpepper in her latter years; Charles, about whom little is known; and Susan, who married Randolph Wilson and moved to Barstow, Georgia.
