Eldest daughter of Harvey Glenn Freed and Ethel Mae Hixon, she married Reno Hypes in 1937, they had one son David, and two daughters Vivian Williams, and Linda Schocke. She was a devoted mother and wife,and love to grow a large family garden that she canned each year for her family. She was one of seven children, four brothers Oral, Roy, Cleo, and Marvin and two sisters Marjorie and Iva. The majority of her siblings and parents are buried in the Saltilo Cemetery, Washington County, Indiana.
