Daughter of Ephraim B. Hixon and Lydia Hawk, she married Harvey Glenn Freed in 1912, they had eight children, four daugthers Leora, Majorie, Iva and infant that died young and four sons Oral, Roy, Cleo and Marvin. All of her boys participated in the military and was in combat during the War, two died Cleo was killed in Germany, Marvin was killed in Korea.
