Word was received in Montpelier this morning of the sudden death of Mrs. W. E. Morgan. Prominent local woman Mrs. Morgan died at the Dee hospital at Ogden at 9:30 a.m. Complete details will appear in next week's paper.

MRS. MORGAN DIED IN OGDEN

Montpelier friends and acquaintances were shocked Thursday morning when word was received here of the death of Mrs. Marian E. Morgan, wife of Superintendent W. E. Morgan, which occurred at the Dee Hospital in Ogden Thursday morning, June 9th at 9:30.

While Mrs. Morgans condition was known to be serious, following a major operation last Thursday, June 2nd, her friends here were hopeful of her recovery. Mrs. Morgan numbered her friends here by the score, chief among them being the children and young people of the community whom she taught and with whom she came in contact during the years she was instructor in the Montpelier grade schools.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Norma Johnson of Salt Lake City, Miss Lucy Morgan of Ogden and Miss Ruth Morgan of Montpelier.

At the time of going to press arrangements for funeral services had not been made, but the remains will be brought to Montpelier for services and interment.

DEATH CLAIMS MONTPELIER WOMAN

Mrs. Marian E. Morgan of Montpelier, wife of William E. Morgan supt. of Montpelier city schools died very unexpectedly at the hospital in Ogden, last Thursday morning after an operation. She had been ill but a short time and went to Ogden a week previous for treatment.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Willard, Utah, March 11, 1873, a daughter of Robert and Harriet Henderson where she grew to womanhood and married William E. Morgan. They went to Brigham City in 1915 where Mr. Morgan accepted a position as a member of the Box Elder High school faculty, later moving to Paris, where he was principal of the Fielding Academy for a number of years. During the summer of 1919 they moved to Montpelier where they have since resided, where Mr. Morgan is Supt. of schools. She was always active in school and church work, holding responsible positions in the various auxiliary organizations of the L. D. S. church. She leaves in Montpelier and Paris a host of friends who regret to learn of her death. She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Norma Johnson, Sandy, Utah; Lucille Morgan, instructor of nurses at the Dee hospital; Miss Ruth Morgan, Montpelier; two grandchildren and the following brother and sisters: William Henderson, Malad; Margaret and Lucy Henderson, Willard; Mrs. Orpha Peters, Perry; and Mrs. Agnes Benning, Ogden, Utah.

Services were held Saturday morning at ten thirty o'clock in the Willard, Utah chapel, with Bishop Ephriam White presiding. Then the body was brought to Montpelier for second services and interment Sunday.

FUNERAL FOR MRS. W. E. MORGAN SUN. TABERNACLE

Impressive funeral services were held for Mrs. Marian E. Morgan, wife of W. E. Morgan, who died at the Dee hospital in Ogden last Thursday. Mrs. Morgan was 59 years of age March 10, and was born in Willard, Utah in 1873.

She was a member of the L. D. S. church, and an active and devoted worker in the interests of the schools of Montpelier, having taught here for many years.

Surviving besides her husband are three children, Mrs. Henry Johnson, of Salt Lake City, Lucy Morgan, of Ogden, and Ruth Morgan, of Montpelier, also one brother at Malad and four sisters who reside at Willard, Utah.

Funeral services were held at 12:30 Sunday at the Montpelier tabernacle. Services were: Invocation by Milford Williams, vocal solo, Wright Welker, speakers, Sidney Burgoyne, President Ed C. Rich, Mrs. Geneva Weaver and President Roy Welker of Paris, vocal solo by Mrs. Grosjean, duet by Mrs. Humpherys and Mrs. Burgoyne, and a mixed quartet. Benediction was by Hyrum Holmes, and the grave was dedicated by Clarence Wright.

WELL KNOWN TEACHER LAID TO REST SUNDAY
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Marian Elvira Henderson Morgan were held Sunday, June 12th at 12:30, in the Montpelier Stake Tabernacle, which was filled with friends of the deceased, who had gathered to pay their last respects.

Services, which were conducted by Bishop Perkins, were opened with prayer by Milford Williams, followed by a vocal solo, "Abide With Me," Wright Welker; speakers were Bishop W. Louis Perkins, Bishop S. E. Burgoyne, President Ed C. Rich, Mrs. Geneva Weaver and President Roy A. Welker of the Bear Lake Stake. All paid high tribute to the character of Mrs. Morgan and the service she had rendered to the community during the years she taught in the grade schools of Montpelier, her understanding and sympathy having gained her the love and respect of every child with whom she came in contact.

Other musical numbers were a vocal duet, "Whispering Hope", by Mrs. E. H. Humphreys and Mrs. Joe Burgoyne; vocal solo, "Going Home", Mrs. Lottie Grosjean and the song "Sometime We'll Understand" by a quartet composed of Mrs. Grosjean, Mrs. Humphreys, Smith Phelps and Thor C. Nielsen.

Benediction was pronounced by Hyrum Holmes, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Montpelier Cemetery.

Former students of Mrs. Morgan acted as flower girls and pallbearers.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Willard, Utah. She was 59 years of age. She passed away at the Dee Hospital at Ogden, Utah on Thursday, June 9th, where she had undergone an operation a week before her passing.

Services were also held at Willard on Saturday, June 11th.
