Word has been received of the death of Arthur Cecil Hopkins, 93 of Snyder, OK
Mr. Hopkins died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at his home in Snyder.
No local services are being held. Local arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
Burial will be in Utica, KS on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Arthur Cecil Hopkins was born November 17, 1920 on a farm in La Crosse, KS to Arthur J. (Joseph) and Eunice (Peavey) Hopkins. In 1926 the family moved by horse and wagon to a farm south of Utica, KS. He attended grade school at Ness County Schools and high school in Utica. In 1941, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during WW II. He was a member of the Utica Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 380 and the VFW Post both in Ransom, KS.
He is survived by a sister Elma H. (Hopkins) Castor, brother Ronald Hopkins, daughter Cheryl H. (Hopkins) Rhodes and husband Dave Rhodes Jr., son Dirk Hopkins and wife Carla, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and Gene a daughter Deborah Kay Hopkins and a grandson Brandon McBride.
