Virginia Black Graves Murphy passed away peacefully on July 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO following a long illness. She was born on July 25, 1934 to Ed and Lena Black in Morrisville, MO. Virginia was preceded in death by her two daughters Roxanna Lackey and Yvonne Graves. She is survived by her husband of 14 years Howard Murphy, brother Harley Black and wife Janetta; sister Winnifred Shelton; sister Doris Cowdrey; sister Margarette Hoven and husband Bill; and sister Carol Barbee and husband Wes. She is also survived by her son Buddy Graves and wife Linda; son Audie Graves; step-daughter Roberta Murphy, step-daughter Rebecca Morris and husband Robert of; step-son Ron Murphy and wife Debi; 11 grand-children; and several great grand-children. Virginia was a loving wife, sister, and mother who had a passion for life. Her strong Christian faith and positive attitude was an inspiration to all her knew her.
