"DR. J. E. BELVILLE, PHYSIOLOGIST, DIES
Dr. J. Edgar Belville, professor emeritus of physiology at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital died yesterday at Hahnemann Hospital after a short illness. He was 88.
Dr. Belville was a native of Hartsville, Bucks county, where his father was pastor of a Presbyterian Church. He was graduated from Lafayette College in 1879 and from Jefferson Medical College in 1882. He received degrees from Boston Medical College and Hahnemann Medical College. He had practiced in Wheeling, W. Va., Boston and St. Clair, Schuylkill county, Pa.
He was a member of the Union League, Philadelphia Cricket Club and the Germantown Cricket Club. His first wife, Sydney, died in 1903. Seven years later he married Miss Henrietta Elliott, who survives him.
He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Wesley K. Woodbury, of Pottsville; a daughter, Mrs. William E. Coale, and a son, Henry Belleville, Philadelphia newspaperman.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday from his home, 5925 Greene st., Germantown. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery."
