ISABELL DOWNS

MIDVALE--Emily Isabell Downs, age 92, passed away at her home in Midvale December 2, 1992.

Born November 9, 1900 in New Bridge, Oregon to James Nelson and Corintha Kiersey Holcomb. Married George W. Downs in New Bridge, Oregon December 24, 1919; marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 15, 1964. George preceded her in death August 6, 1970. Isabell gave a lifetime of service to others and was an active member of the LDS Church and the Midvale 3rd Ward for 42 years. She left many memories, enjoyments, examples and treasures for her family to remember and follow.

Survivors: children, Lillian (Ellis) Simonis, Fonda Buckingham, George (Ann) Downs Jr., Adelbert (Dorothy) Downs; 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren; brother, Ralph Holcomb; sister, Annie Hilzer. Preceded in death by daughter, Vivian D. Hahn; grandson, Mark Downs; great-granddaughter, Lori Robinson; also three brothers.

Funeral services Saturday, December 5, 1992 at 11 a.m. in the Midvale 3rd LDS Ward Chapel 75 Olympus St. (8000 South and 200 West). Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Street, Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
