Corinthia Emily Kiersey was born March 7, 1864 in Iowa and crossed the plains at the age of 16 years. After spending two years in southern Oregon she re-crossed the plains to Bedford, Iowa. In 1889 she returned to Oregon and located at Sparta and was married to James Nelson Holcomb in June, 1895. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Holcomb. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Isabella Downs of New Bridge, and Mrs. Annie Noland; three sons, Ralph of Baker, Theodore of Boise and Frank of New Bridge; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Sprague of Portland, and Mrs. Amanda Wilson of Baker; a stepson, Billy Holcomb of Baker; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Maude Ashby of New Bridge, and 25 grandchildren.
Services were held in the Christian Church in Richland at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Rev. Earl Miller of Richland officiated. Interment was in the Eagle Valley Cemetery.
