Angelita "Angie" S. Griffin was born on August 2, 1951, in the Philippines to Sotero and Magdalena (Nillaga) Saturnino. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary education and was a teacher at the Assumption Convent in the Philippines. In Anchorage she was a bilingual teacher at Chester Valley Elementary School, beginning in 2003. A member of the Holy Family Catholic Church Council and an active member of El -Shaddai, she enjoyed life and loved fishing, painting, drawing, and working with kids. Angie will be most remembered for her generosity, kindness, helping the needy and being a true friend.

Angelita passed away on January 29, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Sotero and Magdalena Saturnino; her husband, Robert Griffin; her sister, Marie Cercenia; and her brothers, Marcos and Felicisimo Saturnino.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Angie's life was held on Monday, February 3, 2014 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Cathedral, 800 W. 5th Ave. in Anchorage. Interment was in the spring at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
