Funeral services for Nettie Brumbelow, 83, of Damon, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the First Baptist Church in Rosenberg, with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Brumbelow, Logan Powell, James Freund, Raymond Freund, Gene Freund, and Bill Brumbelow. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Home, 1201 Fourth St. in Rosenberg.
Mrs. Brumbelow died on April 19, 1998 at Diagnostic Hospital in Houston. She was born on July 29, 1914 in Damon. Her grandfather was William Henry Harrison Crockett, a Colonel in the Confederate Army. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Davy Crockett. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Rosenberg.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Roy Brumbelow of Damon; stepsons, Morgan Brumbelow of Alvin and Michael Brumbelow of Houston, Jeff Brumbelow of West Columbia, and Janet Brumbelow of Houston; a brother, Robert Freund of Carbon Hill, AL; nephews, James Freund, Raymond Freund, Gene Freund, Homer Freund, Troy Allen Freund, and James Ives; nieces, Thursalen Ebarb, Lenore Bennett, Barbara Ballard, and Opal Pritchett; and special friend, Grace Weakley.
