This picture is of the mansion his family may have owned and lived in. It was in Amelia County, Virginia and covered at least 200 acres. Located just down the road from this mansion was a Southall Family Cemetery where many members of the Southall Family are bured. In the 50s and 60s, it was owned by COL Karl Frederick Snearer, memorial # 63312989. . Although he was of German descent, COL Snearer fought in WW II for America and was a HAM radio operator. My uncle and I one day went down to his mansion and he was talking to someone in Germany on his HAM radio. My grandparents' 40 acre tobacco farm was just down the road from the mansion. In the 70s and 80s, the mansion was owned by retired U. S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman (HMC) James Clary Moler, memorial # 107984425. HMC Moler established a large hog farm there on the farm.
