Vanceburg, Ky. - Samuel Bate, 65, of Vanceburg Rt. 5, died Friday at home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
A native of Lewis County, he was a member of the Masons.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; a son, Pfc. Frank Bate, serving in Germany; three daughters, Bonnie, Tommie and Anita, all of Vanceburg Rt. 5; three sisters, Mrs. Paul McLelland and Mrs. Maxine Keller, both of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Mrs. Mary Emnett of Tampa, Fla.
Services are pending at Dickerson Funeral Home.
