(1907-1999)

Maxine Keller, 92, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

She was born March 15, 1907, in Stricklet, Ky., a daughter of the late Frank Bate and Parma Esham Bate. She was a retired employee of Selby Shoe Company, a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and its Builders Class, member and past worthy matron of Wheelersburg Order of Eastern Star and Order of White Shrine and past worthy high priestess, member and past royal matron of Amaranth.

she also was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Keller; one brother, Sam Bate; and one sister, Jennie McClelland.

Surviving are one sister, Mary Emnett of Brandon, Fla.; and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at F.C. Daehler Mortuary in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Dillon Staas officiating, and interment in McEldowney Cemetery near Vanceburg, Ky. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Untied Methodist Church.
