Emily Jean "Jeannie" Krause, 86, of Waco, and Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Waco. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, June 30, at the Gulf Coast Church in North Port, Florida, with Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Deer Creek, Indiana.

Jeannie was born in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Marion and Emily Davis. She was a gifted trick rider, regularly performing at rodeos and state fairs across the United States as a teenager, before being hired as a performing artist for the Ringling Brothers Circus. She was a member of the Ringling Show from 1945 to 1952. Following her retirement from "show business" Jeannie was employed by Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a purchasing agent for the laboratory. She retired from the hospital in March, 1990, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Showfolks of Sarasota, an international alliance of circus artists and executives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Krause; and an infant son, Curtis William Krause.

Survivors include her sons, Chris Krause and wife, Pam, of McGregor, and Tim Krause and wife, Cindy, of North Port, Florida; half-brothers, Michael "Micky" Davis, of Dallas, and Neil Davis, of Deland, Florida; grandchildren: Alison Jenkins and her husband, James, of Dallas, Steven Krause, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Angela Barch and her husband, Andrew, of Roswell Georgia; and a great-grandson, Liam Barch, of Roswell, Georgia.
