Saturday, 23 October 1897, at his home northwest, in Christian County, Edward Bilyeu aged 63 and a pioneer of central Illinois quietly breather his last. His trouble was an
internal character, and he had suffered much for many weeks. He was a brother of J S Bilyeu, a highly esteemed citizen of the County and his demise will be sadly regretted by many friends. The funeral services were held from the family residence Sunday afternoon at two oclock. The Christian pastor fiom Blue Mound officiating. Remains were laid to rest in the Bilyeu cemetery.
