"Joseph Reis, of Manlius, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was born and raised in Haddon Heights, NJ, the son of Joseph and Clare Haupt Reis.

Joe was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Finance. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Kappa Alpha Society and Alpha Chi Sigma. He began his employment with Wyeth International in Philadelphia and continued his career at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Lockwood Greene Consulting Engineers.

One of Joe's favorite vacation spots was the Thousand Islands where he established a summer residence and pursued his favorite sport of scuba diving. He was a certified scuba diving instructor for the YMCA, water safety instructor for the American Red Cross and volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. Joe was a United States Air Force veteran and affiliated with Tavistock Country club, West Chester Golf and Country Club, Nottingham Knolls, and Cazenovia Golf Club.

Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra; his son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Joseph and Tia Reis of Boston; brother-in-law, Gordon Haney (Ladon); and nephews, Ian and Evan Haney.

The family would like to thank all those who helped Joe enjoy life's blessings, especially Dr. Robert Cupelo for his kindness and exceptional care.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
