Mrs. S. W. Hutchins Passes
The many friends and relatives of Mrs. Sam W. Hutchins were grieved to learn of her passing at an early hour Monday morning at the family home at Old Hebron. She had been in ill health for some time and had been a patient at a Jackson hospital for several weeks, having requested that she be returned to her home when it seemed that it was beyond the power of medical science to stay the ravages of disease.
Mrs. Hutchins was 55 years of age and was born and reared in Lawrence county in the vicinity of Old Silver Creek Church, being prior to her marriage, Miss Annie Jane Fortenberry.
Funeral services were held from Old Hebron Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Tuesday with Dr. L. E. Green of Prentiss officiating. Interment was made in the Hutchins family cemetery near the home with Aultman-Saulters Funeral Home in charge.
Pall bearers were Durr Walker, W. M. Butler, Shelby Quinn, Reggie Berry, Edd Dampeer and Demp Buckley.
She leaves her husband, Sam W. Hutchins; four sisters, Mrs. Oscar Butler, Mrs. Isaac Herrington, Mrs. Edd Bourne, all of Jeff Davis county, and Mrs. L. W. Sherman of New Hebron; six brothers, Shell, Emmette, Ray, DeLoach, Rex and Ike Fortenberry, all of this county.
