Funeral services for Issac "Ike" Cornett 61 of North Vernon were Wednesday afternoon at the Diekhoff and Vance Mortuary. Elders Melvin Watts Ellis Amburgery and Bill Holcomb officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Cmetery.
Mr. Cornett died Monday at Columub hospital, he had been in ill health for some time.
A native of Kentucky he was born July 11 1915 son of the late WIlliam and Elizabeth Gilbert Cornett. Mr Cornett was a veteran of World War 2, he was a coal miner prior to moving to Jennings county several years ago and farmed here until he became ill.
He is survived by his wife former Ola Caudill whom he married in 1938; five sons Issac Gayle of Yuma Ariz, Leslie, Paschal, John W and Mark Cornett all of North Vernon; six daughters Wanda Wilson of Buttlerville, Elizabeth Ebbing of Hayden, Carolyn and Kathleen Holly of Clifford , Linda Spurgeon and Betty Barlett North Vernon.
