Juanita was born in Dade County MO, the first child of Loren Aubrey and Lura Jane (Rasnic) Small. Then two more brothers and three sisters soon followed. Juanita became a Christian while a young lady and always held strongly to her faith. She graduated from Everton High School in 1939, and then moved to the Ash Grove area. While working in a small grocery store there, she met Clifford "Babe" Geren and he became the love of her life. Juanita and Babe were married on July 3, 1946. Five children, four girls and one boy, made their family complete. Together Babe and Juanita shared almost 60 years before his passing on May 29, 2006.
Juanita was a talented writer and artist but set that aside so she could devote her life to her husband and children. She often told us, "You Kids are my life." Juanita loved to travel. Her and Babe's yard was always filled with beautiful flowers, shrubbery and trees. She always loved reading, and so enjoyed the library that the Kids had set up for her in her home.
Juanita was totally devoted to her family and always gave her best to make sure they had what they needed. When the Kids were younger, she loved to read to them, some stories, mainly poetry from cherished Childcraft Books. Her love and sacrifice not only touched the lives of her Kids, but also her grand-kids, nieces and nephews, and everyone that she met. Their home was always open and welcoming. When the Kids were teenagers, if often became the favorite "hangout" for them and their friends. It seemed like there were always extra kids there, and she never turned anyone away. She was loving, caring, encouraging, and fun. The Kids knew that they could always go home to her if they needed an extra hug, a listening ear, or gentle touch. Juanita was a beautiful woman, both inside and out.
Juanita retired from the Dayco Rubber Company after working 25 years on the production line.
Preceding Juanita in death were her brothers, Leon and Dale; sisters Virginia Mynatt and baby Betty Jo. Left to celebrate her life are her children and their spouses: Jojenia and Joe Bill Fowler, Judy and Zenith Randles, Marolyn and Tracy Scott, Carolyn Geren, and Tony and Nancy Geren; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are her sister, Jean Schofield and sister-in-law, Lena Small.
Burial in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
