Celeste Allen, wife of a Memphis physician, died yesterday, October 15, 1954. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen, who lived at 322 St. Andrews Fairway, had been ill several years. She suffered a heart attack Thursday night and died shortly after she was taken to St. Joseph Hospital.
A lifelong Memphian, Mrs. Allen was educated in Memphis schools. She was a member of the board of directors and clothing chairman for the Home for Incurables. She was a member of the Marion Junior Circle of the King's Daughters and of Grace -St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
She and Dr. Allen wed in 1917. He started practice here in 1915 and has offices at 1019 Madison. A son, Dr. Chester G. Allen, practices with him.
She also leaves two sisters, , Mrs. J. Frank Bigger and Mrs. E.E. Francis, Jr., both of Memphis, and two grandchildren.
