"Ruby Steffey Sumerour, age 86, of Coleman, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Coleman Healthcare Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.

"She was born Ruby Faye Steffey on May 26, 1928, in Santa Anna, a daughter of Arthur Lenard Steffey and Annie Josephine Kelly Steffey. She grew up in Coleman and attended the Junction school. She was married to Don Sumerour and he preceded her in death. She lived in Waco from 1979 until 2009 and then returned to live in Coleman. She was a nursing home administrator.

"She is survived by one son, Larry Sparks and wife Betsy of San Antonio; two daughters, Dianna Baxter of Atlanta, Georgia and Debra Sell of Canyon Lake; one sister, Thelma Barkemeyer of Coleman; one brother, Jerry Steffey of Coleman; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

"She was preceded in death by a son, David Bryan Sparks in 1975; five brothers and three sisters – James, Arthur, Doyle, Arnold and Richard Steffey, Wilma White, Fannie May Calhoon and Hazel Snow.

"Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue until service time."
