US Congressman. Blacksmith. Farmer. He attended public schools, and was served in Pennsylvania's assembly from 1798 to 1803. He was a member of the 51st Regiment of Pennsylvania Militia; he was its paymaster from 1804 an d 1805. He represented Pennsylvania's 2nd Congressional District from 1803 to 1807. In 1807 he was appointed a Justice of the Peace.
